Welcome to the new James Lawson High School, home of the Lawson Lightning.
Our picturesque 274 acres campus is set among the hills of Bellevue on the western border of Davidson County where we celebrate the individual and collective strengths of our students.
The Lawson staff is dedicated to guiding each student towards their personal journey of academic, arts, and athletic excellence. Lawson’s national model status academies propel our students to success in and out of the classroom.
The graduates of James Lawson High School will leave our halls with cherished memories and the life enriching teacher, coach, and staff interactions to develop the character, personal drive, and academic foundations to further their education and make a positive impact within their chosen careers and communities.
I am honored to be the inaugural Executive Principal of James Lawson High School, and it has been a privilege to serve the students within Metro Nashville Public Schools for over 20 years. The true strength of Lawson’s leadership is our talented academy principals, Dr. Danielle Holdren, Dayna Sewell, Abbey McDowd, and Shannon Fey. Our leadership team, along with our highly trained and dedicated faculty and staff, are honored to work with your children.
As we begin our first years at James Lawson High School, it is my desire for the staff, students, parents, and community to become the strong cornerstone from which we grow a tradition of electric school spirit, strong bonds of brotherhood, an oasis of kindness and support, and an inspiration to bring light as bright as lightning to the world around us.
